Duties: Wesleyan University’s Department of Chemistry invites applications for a part-time Visiting Instructor/Assistant Professor of Chemistry beginning September 1, 2024. The visitor will be the instructor of one to two sections of the sophomore-level laboratory course: Intermediate Chemistry Laboratory (CHEM 257) during the Fall Semester and one to two sections of the sophomore-level laboratory course Organic Chemistry Laboratory (CHEM 258) during the Spring Semester
Requirements: Candidates must have a master’s degree or higher in chemistry or another related field; a Ph.D. is required to be hired at the Visiting Assistant Professor level

Duties: Specific areas of research include: (a) Parity-time symmetric circuits; (b) (micro-)electromechanical devices (with emphasis on sensors and energy harvesting); (c ) active topological structures; (d) asymmetric transport; (e) broadband absorbing structures; and (f) Wavefront shaping techniques

Duties: Manage, review, and analyze quarterly US Statutory, GAAP, and Tax reserves, capital, and related balances for a variety of life insurance and annuity products, including actual-to-expected analysis, adhering to regulatory and Company requirements and guidelines; Manage the annual asset adequacy testing and required filings (e.g., cash-flow testing, principle-based reserving, Actuarial Guideline filings); Collaborate with other areas of Finance and the Company, to incorporate their inputs into the valuation process, and provide actuarial output and support to others for reporting, analysis, decision-making, and implementing financial strategies
Requirements: Minimum of 10-15 years of US Statutory and GAAP reserving, capital, and financial reporting experience within the life insurance industry; Experience with actuarial modelling systems, preferably GGY-AXIS, MG-ALFA, and CASE

Duties: Conduct actuarial valuations, including the development and maintenance of actuarial models, to determine reserves and financial liabilities associated with group and health insurance products; Analyze and interpret data to assess the profitability, risks, and performance of group and health insurance portfolios; Stay updated with industry trends, emerging practices, and regulatory changes impacting group and health insurance, and provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders; Participate in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations related to the valuation of group and health products; Engage in actuarial research and analysis to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of group and health insurance valuations
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; Demonstrated progress in passing SOA sponsored actuarial examinations on the pathway to becoming a credentialed actuary (ASA or FSA); Familiarity with actuarial principles, practices, and methodologies related to group life, group AD&D, individual disability income, Medicare Supplement, critical illness, and/or other health insurance products

Duties: Develop novel algorithms to analyze raw single-molecule data produced by Platinum, our next-generation protein sequencing device; Optimize algorithms for running in computationally constrained environments; Dive deep into our current algorithms to improve upon our current, state-of-the-art pipeline; Develop customer facing workflows and libraries for analyzing proteomics data; Assist the team in building robust computational infrastructure to enable rapid development and deployment of new software
Requirements: PhD. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related computational field with 3+ years industry and/or post-doc experience; Track record of developing novel computational approaches to solve complex biological sequence or signal processing problems; Strong analytical thinking and practical problem-solving skills, including the ability to break problems into logical subproblems and devise efficient and flexible solutions; Deep understanding of machine learning, probability and statistics; Proficiency of Python scientific computing libraries (NumPy, sklearn, etc.) & at least one compiled programming language (C++/C, Rust, Java, etc.)

Duties: Design and execute research experiments, perform data analysis and insight generation to support Innovation projects/activities in the Skin Rejuvenation Programme; Continuously develop broad knowledge in skin aging following current literature and attending scientific conference to advance research programmes and capabilities and fill technology pipeline; Manage data integration and insight extraction from large transcriptomic, epigenetic, and proteomic datasets
Requirements: Bachelors Degree with 5+ years or a PhD or Master’s degree with 3+ years relevant experience in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Computational Biology/Bioinformatics, or a related discipline; Expertise in molecular & cellular biology, tissue engineering, or regenerative medicine and most preferably in skin biology; Extensive experience with mammalian cell culture, preferably skin cells. Experience with standard biochemical and molecular biology techniques, including RNA isolation, qPCR, microscopy, ELISAs, and/or quantitative protein analysis
