Duties: The Sociology Program at Southwest Minnesota State University is seeking applicants for a Fixed Term position in Sociology for the 2024-2025 academic year, with potential for renewal. Position responsibilities include teaching a 24-credit course load per year (4 courses each semester) in face-to-face and online delivery. Courses may include core major requirements and courses in race, class, and gender. Duties also include student advising for both online and on campus students, contribution to student growth and development, committee assignments, program assessment, scholarly activities, and service to the University and community. Requirements: PhD in Sociology; Ability to teach a range of sociology courses, such as Introduction to Sociology, Gender Issues, Race & Ethnic Relations, Sociological Theory, and Self & Society; Experience in undergraduate teaching; Evidence of using teaching strategies that support diversity, equity, and inclusion for students of diverse abilities, interests, and backgrounds
