Position: Associate Director of Actuarial Services

Duties: The Associate Director of Actuarial Services within UHC Medicare & Retirement will perform critical research and investigation of key business problems through quantitative analysis of Medicare Advantage data. The Associate Director will proactively identify, communicate, and lead organizational dialogue on opportunities and risks throughout the organization, primarily on topics such as national medical costs, national medical trends, and Utilization Management (UM) affordability programs. As a subject matter expert, the Associate Director will interpret and analyze data from various sources (e.g. claims, authorizations, member data) and recommend best approaches to transform the healthcare industry. The successful candidate will be a key player in setting business strategy using data and analytics to improve member outcomes while delivering savings to the healthcare system
Requirements: ASA or FSA designation; 5+ years of experience in data analytics, specifically interpreting and communicating the results to a broad range of customers and business leaders; 3+ years of experience in financial modeling; for example reserving, pricing, forecasting, etc; Extensive and expert knowledge of concepts and methodologies in health care environment; Advanced or higher proficiency with MS Excel formulas, calculations, charts, graphs
