We seek a dedicated instructor committed to excellence in education to teach Astronomy and Physics courses. This is a non-tenure line, multiyear renewable position, with the possibility of promotion to Associate and then Full Professor of Practice. The initial appointment is customarily for three years. There are no assigned duties during the summer months, but there are opportunities for summer teaching for additional salary. Responsibilities will include teaching multiple astronomy and/or physics courses at all levels in the curriculum, ranging from introductory graduate to advanced undergraduate/entry level graduate courses; managing Teaching Assistants assigned to the courses; curriculum development; holding at least four office hours per week; and supporting various outreach activities within the department. In addition to teaching, a fraction of the appointment will be devoted to research and outreach (details subject to negotiation), which is expected to include undergraduate students.
