The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Cardiac Surgery, seeks Clinical Associates at 100% effort for a renewable two-year term. The appointees are expected to take call independently and support all Cardiac Surgery programs, including CT Transplant, Procurement, and ECMO. Appointees will conduct inpatient rounding on LVAD (left ventricular assist device) patients. These positions are also expected to help support offsite community practices. We especially welcome applicants with at least three years of directly related experience. Teaching and scholarly activity are not required for these positions. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent on qualifications
Requirements:
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois and the State of Indiana, 3) be BC/BE by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (or equivalent), and 4) have completed an ACGME accredited fellowship and/or equivalent training in cardiovascular/thoracic (CVT) surgery
