Position: PhD position in Biostatistics
Institution: Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute
Location: Basel, Switzerland
Duties: The PhD topic involves the development and application of Bayesian spatio-temporal methods to climate sensitive infectious disease data and it is part of an EU-funded project. The successful applicant will be registered for a PhD degree at the University of Basel and receive a doctoral salary at Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) scale. The position is available immediately, but a later starting date is possible by negotiation
Requirements: A two-year MSc degree (120 ECTs) in Mathematics, Statistics or closely related field; Strong mathematical and statistical modeling skills; Strong programming skills in R are essential, additional programming skills in C/C+ or Fortran are an advantage; Very good English speaking and writing skills
   
Text: The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is a world-leading institute in global health with a particular focus on low- and middle-income countries.
