Duties: The projects have the broad goal of better understanding the neuronal circuits for auditory processing and perception, and include both experiments and data analysis. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to learn and apply several state-of-the-art systems neuroscience techniques such as in vivo extracellular recordings, functional imaging (2P calcium or voltage imaging), behavioral assays, optogenetics, in vivo patch-clamp recordings, viral neural tracing, or immunohistochemistry. The research questions will be chosen from a range of topics in auditory systems neuroscience

Duties: In the project from the Independent Research Fund Denmark, which this PhD position is a part of, we will investigate enhancing the magnetic performance of rare-earth free permanent magnets through nanoscale crystallite orientation as well as inspiration from interstellar chemistry. Our partners at Aarhus University will work on the chemistry of the magnets and your part in the project will be to investigate our rare-earth free magnets using our state-of-the-art open-source micromagnetic model, MagTense, and to develop this model even further
Requirements: You must have a two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) in physics, astronomy, mathematics, engineering, chemistry or similar; Experience with static magnetism (magnetostatics) as gained e.g. from a physics courses in electromagnetism; Experience with modelling techniques and preferably some experience with numerical approximations; Experience with Matlab, Python and potentially Fortran; Ability to work independently, to plan and carry out complicated tasks, and to be a part of a large, dynamic group; Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
