Duties: The research will be focused on the analysis of planktonic foraminiferal assemblages for paleoclimatic and paleoenvironmental reconstructions and on understanding climatic variations in the historical and geological record.The analysis of the foraminifera contained in the sediments of the seabed of the Mediterranean area through the study of marine cores will allow to document the conditions of the waters in which these organisms lived, record the climatic oscillations and connect them to the main historical and geological periods. The micropaleontological analyses will be carried out with optical methods and also through the use of an electron microscope when necessary and the quantitative data of the assemblages will be integrated with geochemical (isotope), XRF and sedimentological data

Duties: This position will focus on the application of machine learning to develop computationally efficient emulators of high-resolution state-of-the art regional climate models.
