Duties: The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2024 or later, subject to budgetary approval. The successful applicant will teach courses in their areas of research and supervise graduate students. They will also be expected to contribute more broadly to the Department’s teaching needs at all levels, in areas including Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Language, Epistemology, Logic/Critical Thinking, Environmental Philosophy, and Philosophy of AI. The ability to teach in these areas from a non-Western perspective would be of value. The Department of Philosophy is developing its ability to support majors in the University’s Neuroscience program; demonstrated ability to contribute to this objective will be considered a strength
Requirements: We seek applicants with a demonstrated ability of producing high-quality research, and potential for securing research funding. The successful candidate will show clear evidence of success or potential with respect to both teaching and departmental and university service. In addition, we will consider it an asset if applicants can demonstrate their ability to forge interdisciplinary collaborations and engage with the community
