Department: Chemistry
Duties: The multivalent presentation of antigens is essential for the proper activation of the immune system; Tn and STn antigen mimetics, developed in our group, will be properly functionalized for the conjugation through click reactions to nanovescicles and nanostructures
Requirements: Early stage researcher or 0-4 yrs (Post graduate)

     Deadline: May 6, 2024 | Published: April 18, 2024   13:05

Duration: 1 y
Duties: Peptides containing recognition sequences that promote specific cell targeting, cell growth, and differentiation will be designed, synthesized, and fully characterized by HPLC and MS. Subsequently, the bioactive peptides will be grafted on the selected biomaterials (e.g., silk fibroin). The following analytical and biophysical techniques will be used to characterize the functionalized biomaterials and to quantify the grafted peptides: HPLC titration; IR and UV spectroscopies; Functionalized biomaterials and scaffolds will be biologically tested on Caco2 cells for cytotoxicity and to verify their capability to induce cell proliferation
Requirements: Master degree in Chemistry, or in Pharmacy, or in; Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies, or in; Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, or equivalent; Scientific-professional curriculum suitable for; carrying out the activity covered by the research

Duties: In the last few years, the limitation of antimicrobial options effective against infections caused by difficult-to-treat pathogens have renewed the interest on correct antimicrobial prescription campaigns. The fast evolution of the epidemiology of multidrug resistant pathogens, along with the availability of novel antimicrobials, challenges education programs dedicated to antimicrobial resistance prevention and treatment. The aim of this project is the development of pre-training surveys to assess the competence gaps among healthcare workforce, followed by the creation of tailored training modules to tackle AMR in the areas of drug prescription. Tasks: Development of specific surveys on the background of the healthcare professionals on AMR Design and definition of learning materials including video-class formats, clinical algorithms for diagnostics and treatment, web/phone app for clinical practice. Contribute to the delivery of training activities in Italy

Duration: 2 y
Duties: The researcher will quantify the spatial and temporal variations of critical climate hazards, such as heatwaves, droughts, floods, and storms, as well as compound events. Hazard indicators will be derived for the whole globe from reanalysis data and climate projections under different warming levels. Advanced statistical techniques will be applied to assess the temporal evolution of intensity and frequency of extreme events under non-stationary conditions and linked with observed impacts on society and forest ecosystems. Outcomes of this activity will improve considerably the understanding of how extreme climate events are expected to evolve under different warming scenarios and will identify hotspot areas exposed to multiple climate hazards
Requirements: Experienced researcher or 4-10 yrs (Post-Doc)

Duties: Allergic diseases are caused by an inappropriate immune recognition of environmental antigens. Allergen ImmunoTherapy (AIT) is the only causative therapy of allergic diseases as interfering with the altered allergic response. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are emerging drug carriers for several molecules
