Duties: The Swedish forestry sector is facing demands for increased carbon storage in forests with changed management practices. There is also a growing need for forest raw materials for both existing and new industrial applications. Which techniques regarding biofuel production, carbon capture and storage, and increased forest production work best in combination to continue to ensure sustainable production and allow for increased climate benefits for the Swedish forestry sector? This question forms the basis for system analyses of the Swedish forestry sector, based on detailed models for new and existing techniques for biofuels, CO2 storage, and increased forest production
Requirements: Qualification requirements Anyone who has a doctorate related forest science, forest industrial production systems, or optimization, or who has a degree from another country that is equivalent to a doctorate concerning analysis of large systems qualifies for the position

Duties: Job description Your work as a postdoc will primarily consist of research in aquatic ecology and industrial ecology. You will be expected to participate actively in the department’s knowledge environment and networks, both internally and externally. The Post Doc scholarship is part of the research group Marine Plankton Ecology and Applications and the multidisciplinary project ALGOLAND, which aims to develop biological solutions to address major societal challenges such as climate change, eutrophication and food/feed production in the Baltic Sea region. Microalgae are used to clean industrial waste streams, such as flue gas or process water and the biomass evaluated as animal feed supplement. The project is a close collaboration between academia and industry and has competence within biology, ecology, environmental science, sustainable development and economy
Requirements: We seek a highly motivated Post Doc with a strong background in bioremediation, microalgal applications or biotechnology engineering. The work involves the evaluation of autotrophic, mixotrophic and heterotrophic cultivation to recover nutrients and CO2 from industrial waste streams, using existing pilot-scale photobioreactors. And in collaboration with regional energy- and pulp industry evaluate the feasibility and cost efficiency of implementing microalgal solutions within forest-based industry. Anyone who has a doctorate in bioremediation, ecology or biotechnology engineering, or who has a degree from another country that is equivalent to a doctorate in bioremediation, ecology or biotechnology engineering, qualifies for the position
