Duties: As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you are expected to independently carry out both experimental and theoretical work within the specified research questions, evaluate, and report the achieved results. You act as a neutral party in many contexts, which provides a great opportunity to be involved in challenging development projects. The research may include experimental work in the form of experimental studies at high temperatures in a lab scale, thermodynamic calculations, and characterization of materials using various analytical instruments including XRD (X-ray diffraction), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy), HT-CLSM (High-Temperature Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy) The work is primarily conducted at Luleå University of Technology in Luleå, but experiments/investigations with industrial partners may occur
Requirements: We are looking for someone who is engaged, goal-oriented, and motivated to perform advanced research in process metallurgy, both independently and in collaboration with senior researchers and partners within academia, research institutes, and industry. Above all, you are determined to continuously develop your skills and contribute to research that advances knowledge within process metallurgy. You should have a Ph.D. in metallurgy, chemical engineering, inorganic chemistry, environmental chemistry, process engineering, or materials science. You should have experience in experimental work within high-temperature chemistry, experience with thermodynamic calculations, and characterization using various methods. You must have good communication skills, both written and oral in English. Furthermore, you should have a high sense of responsibility and safety awareness as the experimental work occurs at high temperatures and in various gas atmospheres

Duties: As a PhD student, you are expected to be part of the research environment at the Division. This means gaining practical research experience by publishing scientific papers in journals and presenting at national and international conferences and conducting research within one or several of the projects carried out in the Division. You will also take PhD courses, some of which will be directly connected to the Research School. You may also have the opportunity of trying the teacher role. Duties: As a research engineer, you will help in the design and implementation of experimental campaigns, in laboratory and field conditions, related to the assessment and evaluation of the capacity of bridges and existing structures. These activities will deal with the installation of sensors and data analysis from the signal obtained using optical instrumentation, accelerometers, and strain gauges as well as determination of material properties, and casting of concrete. The activities will be performed in real scale structures and in scale down model tests. You are expected to document all the processes you will be involved in a written report. Contributions to other projects are also expected where knowledge of finite elements and structural design is required
Requirements: Holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent educational background in relevant subjects; Has experience with laboratory and in-situ experimental campaign (for example, testing of elements in compression, extraction of cores); Has some knowledge in the use of monitoring systems (strain gauges, LVDTs, FOS, DIC)
