Position: R&D Specialist in Molecular and Functional Neurobiology
Institution: University of Luxembourg
Location: Luxembourg City, Luxembourg
Duties: Standard molecular biology (Bradford, ELISA, Western blotting, immunocytochemistry) and mitochondrial function (Seahorse technology, colorimetric dyes, enzyme kinetics with spectrophotometry etc.) assays; Support of cell culture activities (cell lines, primary cells, iPSC maintenance and differentiation); Real-time PCR, sequencing, cloning of plasmids and viral constructs; Preparation of cell extracts for metabolomic analyses and application of LC- and GC-based methods; Contribution to general laboratory organisation (ordering, overseeing of stocks, storage, preparation of solutions etc.)
Requirements: Master’s degree in neuroscience, molecular biology, biochemistry, or another life science-related discipline; Strong background in standard molecular biology techniques; Experience with cell culture, ideally with iPSC-derived cellular models; Experience in mass spectrometry, preferably in a metabolomics setting; Keen interest in investigating the molecular basis of neurodegenerative and neurometabolic diseases
