Text: UNIVERSITÄT REGENSBURG The Faculty of Mathematics invites applications for a full professorship of Mathematics (grade W3) as a tenured professorship at grade W3 to be appointed as soon as possible. The Faculty of Mathematics seeks a distinguished researcher to strengthen the research profile of the faculty. The candidate’s research should address current and upcoming topics in a field of Mathematics that is connected to at least one of the main research areas of the faculty: Applied Analysis, Arithmetic Geometry, or Global Analysis and Geometry. Topics of particular interest are categorical homotopy theory, geometry and motivic methods, analysis and numerics of partial differential equations, analysis of stochastically driven non-linear systems and non-linear optimization. It is expected that the candidate engages actively in one of the current or future collaborative research projects (for example the current RTG 2339 Interfaces, Complex Structures, and Singular Limits or the current CRC 1085 Higher Invariants) as well as in the Kepler Research Centre for Mathematics. Prerequisites for taking up the position are according to „Art. 57 Abs. 1 Bayerisches Hochschulinnovationsgesetz (BayHIG)“, alongside the general conditions from public sector employment law, a completed university degree; pedagogical suitability; particular aptitude for academic work, generally shown by a doctoral degree, as well as additional academic achievements, such as a Habilitation or an equivalent research record (scientific research experience gained outside of a university environment or while employed as a Junior Professor will also be taken into consideration). Under the conditions specified in „Art. 98 Abs. 10 Satz 5 BayHIG“ the leadership of a junior research group is an equivalent academic achievement. Universität Regensburg is particularly committed to reconciling family and working life (for more information, see https://www.uni-regensburg.de/datenschutz/.
