We seek a candidate with a research agenda that uses or advances frontier empirical tools, and who is prepared to teach applied econometrics in our Ph.D. program. The successful candidate will teach the second-semester course in our Ph.D. econometrics sequence, starting in their first year at CSU . This course should include causal inference techniques, such as instrumental variables, panel data models, and treatment effects methods. Applicants should include a brief description in their cover letter of how they would approach teaching this course (e.g., material covered, relation to their research, etc.). Preference will be given to candidates whose research addresses social issues in the areas of public, health, regional, environmental, development, and/or international economics. Demonstrated experience in data science techniques including big data, wrangling and visualization, and machine learning are also valued. The Department values both strong teaching and research, offering programs of study leading to B.A. and Ph.D. degrees with graduate fields in public, development, international, regional, environmental, and political economy. Ph.D. must be completed by the time the appointment begins on 16 August 2025. The successful candidate will be appointed untenured and at the rank of Assistant Professor. Tenure requires both scholarly accomplishment and excellence in teaching.
