Position Purpose The School of Nursing is seeking a part time statistician to assist students and faculty with research projects and grant activities, and to periodically coach students in statistics through a boot camp format. Work will be project based and be based on availability of work. A statistician facilitates faculty research by consulting with faculty members to: • Consider design option to strengthen the study • Maximize data collection protocols • Create a customized data analysis plan • Implement best data analyses procedures • Recommend post-hoc analyses, as appropriate Job Duties The statistician works with the student to: - Modify a quantitative research design, as needed, to enable inquiry into the research question via descriptive & inferential methodologic approaches - Review realistic data collection plans - Maximize a customized data analysis plan - Apply descriptive & inferential data analyses to produce accurate, statistically valid results using the most advantageous software (e.g. SPSS , SAS , R) - Verify results interpretations and recommend any post-hoc analyses in addition, and on a yearly basis, the consultant would develop and run an advanced level 1-2 hour statistic boot camp during Doctoral week for PhD Students. Another 1-2 hour review at a moderate level for DNP -NA students will also be needed.
