Position: Bioinformatics Analyst II

Duties: The Genomics Research Center (GRC) at the University of Rochester is seeking a highly trained, motivated, and passionate Bioinformatics Analyst to join a collaborative Bioinformatics group providing applied bioinformatics analytical support to research scientists utilizing high-throughput sequencing and other data types for their research
Requirements: The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics as well as be able to communicate and work with a diverse research team. Specifically, the applicant will work under supervision of the Director of the GRC and Senior Bioinformatic Scientist to quality control raw data, identify dysregulated gene and pathways, and integrate disparate datasets into regulatory frameworks. In addition, daily responsibilities of data management, experimental design, optimization and maintenance of computational workflows, incorporation of new methodologies, and providing interpretable results to aid in hythothesis generation are expected
