Text: Senior Postdoctoral Research Associate Department of Statistics, 24-29 St Giles, Oxford, OX1 3LB This post is fixed-term for 3 years ending no later than 31 December 2027. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Senior Postdoctoral Research Associate in the areas of Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning. The University of Oxford, supported by funding from Google DeepMind, has created a three-year postdoctoral role in AI or ML that will focus on an independent research agenda and also have opportunities to help contribute to diversifying the research community. The post holder will engage in internationally leading research in AI or ML, manage their individual research portfolio, establish research collaborations across the University, and supervise research students. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to conduct a small amount of teaching at the Department of Statistics in their areas of expertise, and organise and participate in outreach activities to promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Statistics communities, and be a role model, ambassador, and point of contact for other emerging talent. The Senior Research Associate will report to Prof Yee-Whye Teh, who will provide academic mentorship and guidance. They will be based at the Oxford Computational Statistics and Machine Learning (OxCSML) group, which is a vibrant research group working at the cutting edge of Statistical Machine Learning. OxCSML is part of the Department of Statistics, as well as Oxford’s ELLIS Unit, which is a broader community of academics and researchers at the University conducting research on fundamental and methodological aspects of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The Senior Research Associate will also have the opportunity to benefit from mentoring from Google DeepMind.
