Position:	Postdoctoral Research Fellow position within organic synthesis/medicinal chemistry

Duties:	The subject area for the position is synthetic organic chemistry/medicinal chemistry. The aim of the project is to synthesize compounds with antimicrobial activity that can decompose under light into fragments that do not have antimicrobial activity. The project is a continuation of earlier work based on compounds containing our ethanolamine chemistry. Method development and chemical analysis will also be a central part of the project to, among other things, map photochemical degradation products. The person that will be hired will be involved in teaching duties at the department
Requirements:	Applicants must hold a Norwegian PhD or an equivalent degree within synthetic organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry. PhD-students may apply if defence of the PhD-thesis is completed by September 1. It is a condition of employment that the PhD has been awarded; Experience from the use of modern analytical instrumentation, including running and interpretation of NMR-spectra (including two-dimensional NMR-techniques) is a requirement; Experience from multi step synthesis is an advantage
