The Postdoctoral Fellow (Level A) is expected to contribute towards the research effort of UNSW and to develop their research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to their particular field of research. The role may involve the conduct of classes. About the role $106K - $113K plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading Fixed term - 3 years Full time (35 hours) The role reports to Professor Andrew Francis and has no direct reports. Specific responsibilities for this role include: Contribute independently and as a team member in collaborative research on the mathematics associated with phylogenetic trees and networks. The areas of mathematics involved will include discrete mathematics, combinatorics, and graph theory, and may benefit from other expertise including group theory, probability theory, complexity theory, and programming skills. Occasional teaching may be required from time-to-time. Support the dissemination of research outcomes through appropriate channels and outlets, including collaboration in drafting, editing, and submitting manuscripts. Participate in and/or present at conferences and/or workshops relevant to the project as required. Assist with the supervision of research students in the research area where required. Assist in the development of research funding proposals as required. Align with and actively demonstrate the UNSW Values in Action: Our Behaviours and the UNSW Code of Conduct.
