Duties:	The proposed research aims to shed light on the history of the theoretical and methodological debate that took place in the United States, starting from the Second World War, on the relationship between political science and political theory; a debate that presents great elements of interest with respect to the redefinition of US political culture and the long-term effects of this redefinition. In that context, the ideas of war and peace took on great importance: starting from the traumatic experiences of totalitarianism, the atomic age and the Cold War, numerous scholars (many of whom emigrated from Europe during the conflict), coming from different philosophical and religious backgrounds, attempted to provide answers to the condition of international instability of the time; the reflection on war and rhythm also brought with it a critical analysis of US democracy
