The Departmental Lecturer will be required to undertake teaching and supervision at graduate level in the field of Tax Law, and participate in the broader running of the part-time MSc in Taxation and other taxation courses in the Law Faculty. Some of the teaching for the MSc in Taxation compulsory and elective courses take place at weekends and outside Oxford term dates, including the residential programmes in September (to commence in September 2024). Part-time Departmental Lecturer in Taxation Law Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, St Cross Road, St Cross Building, Oxford, OX1 3UL The Faculty of Law seeks to appoint a half-time Departmental Lecturer in Taxation during the academic years 2024-2025 and 2025-2026, to meet a shortfall in teaching needs pending a review of the teaching requirements of the programme. The Departmental Lecturer will be required to undertake teaching and supervision at graduate level in the field of Tax Law, and participate in the broader running of the part-time MSc in Taxation and other taxation courses in the Law Faculty. Some of the teaching for the MSc in Taxation compulsory and elective courses take place at weekends and outside Oxford term dates, including the residential programmes in September (to commence in September 2024). The Departmental Lecturer will be a member of the Taxation teaching and research group, and will report to the Vice Dean of the Law Faculty. The postholder will be required to give, under the direction of the Board of the Faculty of Law, a maximum of 72 units of lectures, classes or seminars over the academic year, and supervise dissertations. This will include lecturing and small group teaching to be delivered in-person, online and hybrid, especially on the MSc in Taxation compulsory and elective courses; to assist with the development of teaching methods, course design, reading lists and course materials; to undertake a reasonable share of relevant Faculty administrative duties, including pastoral supervision of MSc in Taxation students and formative (practice) assessments of MSc in Taxation students and to examine for the Faculty, especially on the MSc in Taxation.
