Position: Clinical Educator in Speech Pathology

Duties: Liaising with the Principal and senior staff at Croxton Special School to determine the optimum timing for the delivery of Speech Pathology services, in parallel with student practice education opportunities; Delivery of a Speech Pathology service in conjunction with other health disciplines at Croxton Special School; Ensuring practice education experiences enable students to demonstrate the attainment of clinical skills and professional competencies in line with the learning outcomes of practice education subjects; Assessing student performance and providing students with constructive and timely feedback on their development and attainment of professional competencies
Requirements: A Speech Pathology degree and clinical and professional experience recognised by the University and the profession as appropriate for the position; Knowledge of contemporary and evidence-informed clinical practice in the discipline; Proven ability to provide effective clinical supervision of students, including an ability to adapt teaching styles to meet diverse learning needs; Demonstrated ability to be effective in teaching clinical skills

About the position This position has been developed in partnership with Croxton Special School to provide a Speech Pathology service onsite for CSS students. Additionally, the role is enhanced with the responsibility of supervising La Trobe University Speech Pathology students’ practice education experiences. The person in this role will also spend some time on the Bundoora campus, to ensure professional currency and connection to the discipline.
