The candidate will work in the Centre for systems and information technologies and applied mathematics in an interdisciplinary research group that operates at the intersection of computer science, information science, mathematics, system theory and automatic control systems. The group develops new approaches to modelling and applies them to a variety of fields, from biomedicine to education and industry. It also develops methods for intelligent data analysis and knowledge discovery. The selected candidate will conduct research in the field of computer science, actively collaborate in the preparation of new projects proposals and have the opportunity to participate in national and international projects, as well as projects with companies and Slovenian healthcare institutions. Under the terms of their appointment, the successful candidate will also assume teaching duties at the School of engineering and management of the University of Nova Gorica. Eligible candidates should have: a doctorate in computer science, research experience and internationally recognized publications, a good command of English. Preference will be given to candidates with the skills in data science or computer networks and/or holding the rank of assistant professor or equivalent, or meet the conditions for holding the rank of assistant professor. The preferred starting date is immediately after the closure of the procedure or by agreement. Employment is at the location of the University of Nova Gorica in the Lanthieri Mansion, Vipava. The contract is for full-time working hours over a fixed term of 12 months with possibility of extension.
