You will have specialist knowledge of child mental health, experience of conducting Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) and/or co-design activities with lived experience individuals as well as experience of conducting and recruiting participants and/or analysing qualitative interview data. Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to communicate with a range of groups, represent the team at meetings, and write for publication
   
Text: Part-time Postdoctoral Researcher; The Oxford Psychological Interventions in Childhood and adolescence (TOPIC) Department of Psychiatry, Warneford Hospital, Oxford OX3 7JX Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join an exciting Medical Research Council (MRC) funded project that focuses on increasing access to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for preadolescent children with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). The post is based in the Department of Experimental Psychology in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter in Oxford. The post is part time (60% FTE). The post is for a fixed term (funded to 31 December 2026). We have worked with families and clinicians to develop a brief face-to-face/telephone therapist-supported, parent-led CBT intervention for preadolescent children with OCD. We now intend to conduct further work with families and clinicians to co-adapt a brief online version of this intervention and conduct a feasibility randomised controlled trial (RCT) and process evaluation of the brief online intervention in routine mental health services in the UK. This project will involve working with key stakeholders to co-adapt a brief online version of the intervention, conducting a feasibility RCT and conducting a process evaluation. Working closely with study investigators and a range of collaborators, you will co-lead and monitor all aspects of this project. This will include patient and public involvement activities, site and participant recruitment, quantitative and qualitative data collection and data analysis. You will have or be close to completion of a relevant PhD/DPhil together with relevant experience. You will have specialist knowledge of child mental health, experience of conducting Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) and/or co-design activities with lived experience individuals as well as experience of conducting and recruiting participants and / or analysing qualitative interview data.
