Duties:	Contribute to the strategic development and implementation of regenerative medicine in the Regenerative Medicine Stem Cells and Transplantation Research Theme, the Institute and Faculty; To lead and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and assessment; supervise undergraduate and master’s dissertations and postgraduate research students in microbiology and related areas, providing pastoral support and guidance when needed; Develop and sustain an independent research group that operates with a collaborative team-science ethic and in which all team members are recognised and rewarded for their contributions and are provided the opportunity for career advancement
Requirements:	PhD in biology, biochemistry or biophysics or equivalent research-based expertise; Strong background in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine; Experience of presenting findings at national and international conferences; A demonstrated ability to undertake independent research and to work as part of a multidisciplinary research team to successfully deliver research projects

Closing Date: 08 May 2024 The Role The Biosciences Institute seeks to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Regenerative Medicine. Newcastle University is a world-class research-intensive university that aims to provide an outstanding educational experience to its students. Newcastle University’s Biosciences Institute (NUBI) hosts a multi-disciplinary community of researchers who are focussed on the fundamental biology of life to obtain mechanistic understanding of human diseases and improve human health. NUBI harbours state-of-the-art facilities including specialised suites for stem cell expansion, GMP facilities, cutting edge single cell sequencing, imaging, animal, flow cytometry and mass spectrometry core facilities. You will be expected to deliver active programmes of research and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision within the School of Biomedical, Nutritional and Sport Sciences. You will take on leadership roles as appropriate, including mentoring of other colleagues, curriculum development and engagement activities. You will ideally perform research in Regenerative Medicine and apply it to one of the Biosciences Institute’s strategic areas of strength such as cancer, neuroscience, ageing, rare diseases or microbiology.
