Position: 2024 Summer Intern - Machine Learning
Institution: Inflammatix, Inc.
Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom
Duties: Research, develop and implement statistical and machine learning methods (existing or novel) based on gene expression and clinical data; Keep abreast of current statistical/ML literature and share relevant work and insights with the ML research group and the greater Inflammatix informatics team; Engage proactively across disciplinary boundaries with relevant teams/entities at Inflammatix, Inc. surrounding (but not limited to) biomarker discovery, deployment, and other aspects of product development
Requirements: Working towards MSc or PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning, computational biology/bioinformatics, physics or a related field; Familiarity with basic statistical methods; familiarity with Bayesian methods a plus; Familiarity with supervised and/or unsupervised machine learning techniques; Programming skills in Python or R; Familiarity with symbolic computation frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow/Keras or PyTorch); Experience/interest in biomedical applications of statistics/ML is a plus
