Position: Scientist, Immunoinformatics, Oncology Bioinformatics
Institution: Moderna, Inc.
Location: United States
Duties: Utilize and develop bioinformatics solutions for the analysis of large-scale mass spectrometry experiments (DDA and DIA), focusing on the identification and quantification of MHC-bound peptides (immunopeptidomics); Explore, evaluate, and analyze external (e.g. PRIDE) and internal immunopeptidomics and immunogenomics datasets to support therapeutic target discovery and validation; Interpret complex datasets to drive biologically relevant findings in the context of immunopeptidomics; Collaborate closely with cross-functional research teams to design experiments and refine data acquisition strategies for improved data quality
Requirements: Master's degree +3 years of experience in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field. PhD degree is a plus; Rigorous understanding of mass spectrometry concepts and techniques, including the principles and application of data-dependent acquisition (DDA) and data-independent Acquisition (DIA) methods; Previous hands-on experience with mass spectrometry data analysis software, especially when applied to immunopeptidomics, and the familiarity with the role of MHC molecules in antigen presentation; Experience with RNA-seq and WES data; Strong coding skills in Python and/or R
