Position: Research Associate in optical-wireless communication systems

Duties: Research on Optical communication particularly: Free space optics (Horizontal and slant path); Intersatellite communication; Optical feeder links; Visible light communication; Underwater optical communication; Optical camera communication; Optical beam generation; Internet-of-Things; Optical networks; Vehicular communication
Requirements: The candidate should possess a Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or affine. With a proven record of accomplishment in the area of Optical communication. The ideal candidate should have some knowledge and experience in a number of the following topics: A solid mathematical background; Active and passive optical components(MUX/DEMUX, Switches, transceivers, SFPs, combiner, etc.); Experience with optical lab equipment(lens, collimator, beam profiler, CCD camera, etc); Knowledge of Adaptive optics and optical channel modeling; Software Development using C++, Python, MATLAB; Experience with 5G/6G communication systems is desirable; Experience with non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) is considered a plus but it is not required; International experience is desirable
