Position: PhD Research Fellow in aerosol-cloud-climate interactions

Location: Oslo, Østlandet, Norway
Duties: The PhD fellow will join the STEP-CHANGE project team, which works broadly on understanding cloud processes and associated climate feedback mechanisms, as well as how such feedback mechanisms may change with climate state or geographical patterns of warming. The project has a focus on process understanding, using in situ observations and remote sensing in combination with high-resolution modelling, as well as assessment of large-scale climate impacts of clouds using a combination of satellite observations and Earth System Modelling. Applicants should indicate which of the two focus areas they would be most interested in contributing to
Requirements: Master’s degree or equivalent in Meteorology or a related field; Prior experience with analysis of observational data sets and/or numerical model output related to cloud properties is desirable; Strong computational skills, and idelly experience with commonly used programming languages in the field (Python, Fortran, etc)
