Position: Sr. Risk Manager (m/f/d)

Duties: Operate the market and credit risk models, both for NewRe’s internal risk model as well as other relevant regimes; Monitor ongoing model adequacy through own analyses as well as thorough benchmarking vs capital models across the Munich Re Group; Responsible for the market and credit elements of both ongoing risk reporting as well as the ORSA; Closely collaborate with NewRe’s investment function on risk assessments for relevant investment decisions; Closely monitor NewRe’s investment risk profile and the exposures associated with its asset allocation and its underwriting activities; Contribute to the definition and refinement of the overall risk strategy & risk management framework
Requirements: University degree in mathematics/science, or related quantitative subject; Minimum of 7 years experience in risk management in the (re)insurance or audit/consulting space, preferably with exposure to investment risks; Ideally: Tertiary qualification e.g. CERA, qualified actuary, CFA; Experience of capital modelling techniques and statistical methods used in risk management as well as the capital market exposures associated with re/insurance activities

We are looking for an experienced, collaborative Risk Manager with excellent communication skills to join our Risk Management division. Reporting into NewRe’s Chief Risk Officer, you will be responsible for operating and further developing the company’s market and credit risk model landscape. Incorporating NewRe’s unique and innovative reinsurance transactions into this landscape is a key challenge of the role. As part of a very senior and highly professional team, you will share responsibility for key legal entity products such as the ORSA and SST reports. Contribute to the definition and refinement of the overall risk strategy & risk management framework Liaise with NewRe internal stakeholders and relevant Munich Re units (especially Group Risk Management and Munich Re’s asset management entity MEAG) Support modelling and reporting in other risk modules (e.g. through peer review and development initiatives) Plus any additional duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be expected to be undertaken in accordance with the role.
