Main purpose of the job For the position as a research fellow, we are seeking a highly motivated and talented applicant with experience of mathematical modelling and knowledge of PDEs and individual-based/hybrid models. Ability to analyse such models analytically and numerically is essential. The project will focus on modelling CAR-T cell therapies for solid paediatric tumours and the influence that the tumour microenvironment has on success/failure of such therapies. The aim is to predict the factors influencing success of therapy and to suggest experiments to determine if certain interventions can improve success rate
Requirements:
A successful candidate will have a PhD in Mathematics or similar, or be finalising their PhD or waiting for their viva date. They will have experience of solving partial differential equations and experience with numerical simulations of the solutions of partial differential equations and of agent-based models. They will have a track record of publication and excellent communication skills. An outstanding candidate will additionally have experience of cancer modelling
