Candidates with research interests focusing on the development and/or use of chemical tools, and approaches to study fundamental questions in biology relevant to human health and medicine are encouraged to apply. This position is part of a multi-faculty recruitment effort supported by the Office of the Provost under the Disciplinary Excellence initiative. Ideal candidates should have demonstrated success in developing a vigorous and federally funded research program. They will be expected to be committed to teaching a diverse student body at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to serve the Department, university, and discipline. The Department of Chemistry at the University at Buffalo is entering a period of unprecedented growth supercharged by the Disciplinary Excellence initiative. The current search is a part of a multi-faculty hiring effort aimed at enhancing the existing strengths in chemical biology, organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry. The successful candidate will teach and train students in these programs and will complement existing strengths in areas focused toward development and application of chemical tools, and techniques and analysis to the study biological systems, relevant to human health.
