Position: Post-Doctoral Fellow - Econometric Modeling and Productivity Research

Duties: We seek an energetic and motivated postdoctoral fellow/research associate to conduct innovative research in agricultural economics, production economics, advanced econometrics applications, and machine learning working at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology at Auburn University. The focus of the work will be on productivity and efficiency analysis and developing and applying econometric models or machine learning applications to help understand the challenges and opportunities for the new generation of U.S. agricultural producers (beginning and women farmers and ranchers). The individual selected for this position will work directly with Dr. Hartarska and Dr. Nadolnyak (Auburn University) on USDA funded project
Requirements: The minimum qualifications include an earned Ph.D. in agricultural economics, development economics, financial economics, data science or related field at the time employment begins and relevant experience in performing quantitative modeling and econometric analysis. Desirable qualifications include ability to work with large datasets and excellent command of statistical software (e.g. STATA, R, Python), experience with research in efficiency and productivity analysis, production economics, advanced econometrics or machine learning skills as well as interest in rural entrepreneurship and beginning, disadvantaged, and women producers

The anticipated start date will be January, 2024 for an initial period of 18 months with a possibility of extension to two or more years depending on performance and funding availability. This is a benefit eligible, non-tenure track position.
