Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field; Minimum of 4 years actuarial experience in life insurance or reinsurance; Functional actuarial experience within a life insurance organization, such as in Valuation, Financial Reporting, Pricing, Modelling, etc; ASA (1; 2 years from FSA) or new FSA; Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to present complex initiatives to variety of stakeholders

Coordinates the delivery of financial planning results with valuation function and ensures timely completion of periodic financial planning and analysis reporting. Collects, documents and communicates key drivers of financial results to various key stakeholders including senior management. Your Tasks Establishes and Maintains Process: Establish and maintain efficient process and associated controls to ensure accuracy and consistency of reported results across different basis. Coordinate with key stakeholders to obtain key business drivers and document these in a clear and transparent manner. Ensure that explanations reconcile the Plan to Forecast and Actual figures. Produce ad-hoc analysis and support on an as needed basis. Develops Tools: Develops and maintains necessary templates and databases for use in collecting and analysing forecast and planning figures across the various reporting entities (i.e. family, HLRA, HLRA Ber, Sand Lake Re, etc.) and financial reporting basis (i.e. IFRS, statutory, SII, IVC). This will include automating these tools to facilitate an efficient forecasting process. Coordinates Processes: Establish, maintain and manage an agreed schedule of key deliverables and associated dates with stakeholders focusing on quarterly reporting and Board communication cycles. Communicate and negotiate as necessary with the valuation function, corporate finance and strategic finance functions to ensure a timely delivery of results and to ensure all deadlines relating to quarterly analysis and board book deliverables are met. Enhances Analytics: Create enhanced analytics reports relating to specific areas of business performance on as needed basis. For example, produce ROE metrics, enhance analytics related to investment income, etc. Your Profile Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field Minimum of 4 years actuarial experience in life insurance or reinsurance Functional actuarial experience within a life insurance organization, such as in Valuation, Financial Reporting, Pricing, Modelling, etc. ASA (1 - 2 years from FSA) or new FSA Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to present complex initiatives to variety of stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines Ability and willingness to learn and master new technical tools and processes quickly Intermediate MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint and related skills Ability to understand basic accounting information and terminology Experience in a financial reporting function or valuation function Experience with different financial reporting and regulatory basis including IFRS, NAIC statutory, Solvency II, etc. Experience with reinsurance, including knowledge and/or analysis of reinsurance structures, client data, etc. Life insurance product knowledge, such as Term, WL, UL, ULSG, etc. Expertise in critically assessing financial statements for reasonableness Experience working with accounting systems and database tools Total Compensation Range: $120,300 - $180,900 (inclusive of Base and Bonus).
