Application is invited for postdoctoral research fellow position to work on the project ?Dimension Supercharged Projective Sampling? funded by The Royal Society. The post-holder will develop, analyse, optimise and implement novel computational MCMC and adaptive MCMC methodology targeting high dimensional spaces. The project will be led by Dr Krzysztof Latuszynski. Collaborators on the project will be Prof. Gareth Roberts (University of Warwick) and Dr Alexandre Thiery (National University of Singapore). The post-holder will become part of the world-renowned Department of Statistics at the University of Warwick, in particular of its world-leading group in computational statistics, and will take active part in workshops, seminars and reading groups in this research area. You should hold a PhD (if you are near to completion, you will be considered for the position of Research Assistant (?30,497 per annum)), together with strong background in computational statistics that covers at least two of the following fields: MCMC, diffusion processes, numerical stability of algorithms, preparation and publication of computer code for statistical methodology. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To contribute to the research climate within the computational statistics group and the department of statistics. Research 1. To work collaboratively within the project as directed, working with other researchers and senior investigators on the project. 2. To establish a sound research base within the department in order to pursue individual and collaborative research of high quality. 3. To publish research outcomes in appropriate journals of international standing and to publish and disseminate the results of research and scholarship in other outlets. 4. To attend and present research findings and papers at academic and professional conferences, and to contribute to the external visibility of the department. 5. To develop and document releasable academic software implementing the developed methodology to aid dissemination theoretical and applied researchers in the field. Administration and Other Activities 6. To participate in departmental activities such as workshops and other events. 7. To carry out small admin tasks (such as web support, help with event co-ordination) as directed by the project director. 8. To participate of relevant professional activities, such as departmental research seminars.
