Position: Engineer - Research Engineer - Experimental Fluid Systems

Duties: Perform engineering design and analysis of complex fluid flow systems in support of validation testing or other research studies for external and internal customers; Use of Creo and/or SolidWorks preferred; Conduct evaluations and reviews of system designs with a mind for safe operation of high temperature/pressure systems; Communicate with clients to arrange for conducting experiments and testing including quoting/bidding the cost to test based on their requirements; Coordinate with the team of engineers and technicians to execute all preparation, safety assessment, setup, testing, and data processing tasks needed for each project; Ensure strict adherence to test procedures and safety protocols to maintain compliance with the Quality Management System, and work with the team to document and close any non-conformances
Requirements: Requires a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or directly related engineering degree; summer internship or undergraduate research in the area of: petroleum systems, complex fluid flow systems, fluid rheology or similar field

Objectives of this Role: Provide engineering design support, lead mechanical design projects and test system modifications/creation. Conduct evaluations of internal design and testing projects and give recommendations for improving design safety (job safety assessments). Interact with commercial and government clients to develop and execute test protocols, coordinate logistics for test articles, and manage timely execution of deliverables. Coordinate and support the preparation and delivery of final written reports and certifications to our customers. Lead and/or assist with department facility capital improvements, HAZOPS and department safety initiatives. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with good interpersonal skills to effectively manage customer interactions. Must be highly organized with great attention to detail.
