Position: |
Postdoc in Characterization and metabolic modeling of methane fed microbiomes for co-metabolism of trace organic chemicals in groundwater |
Institution: |
Technical University of Denmark |
Location: |
Kongens Lyngby, Lyngby‐Taarbæk Municipality, Denmark |
Duties: |
laboratory work to optimize biological groundwater treatment relying on methanotrophic bacteria; metagenomics and transcriptomics to characterize the functionality of methane fed microbiomes; metabolic modelling to maximize metabolic fluxes; close collaboration with an interdisciplinary team |
Requirements: |
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in biotechnology or bioinformatics. Having experience on metabolic modelling and flux balance analysis is an advantage. You are highly motivated and self-driven in what you do. You like getting your hands dirty and therefore are capable to understand analytical and experimental techniques with little or no supervision. You like to synthesize empirical knowledge into mathematical models that can describe the behaviour of different biological processes and their impact on water quality. You enjoy working in an interdisciplinary environment and are unafraid to ask questions |
