A highly motivated individual will provide technical support for the Kang lab and will have the ability to carry out projects on their own, as needed. The Scientist will conduct research using microscopy, animal work, cellular works (immunostaining, in situ hybridization, etc) molecular works (subcloning, genotyping, cell isolation) and/or biochemistry. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the laboratory's research program investigating the regulatory mechanisms of cardiac regeneration enhancer elements and discovering new regeneration genes. Qualifications: 2 years minimum of post-doctoral research experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, or animal work in an academic or similar research environment is required. Experience working zebrafish is highly preferred. Previous experience in regeneration, hearts, and gene regulation is highly preferred. However, candidates trained in other fields such as molecular biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, cell biology or genetics with translatable skills will also be considered. Expertise in two or more of the following skills/techniques is required: - Imaging: immunostaining, in situ hybridization, FISH, Confocal imaging and other microscopes - Cellular work: cell isolation, immunostaining, in situ hybridization - Molecular biology: basic DNA/RNA work such as subcloning, qPCR, genotyping, extracting gDNA/RNA, and other. Western blot, ChIP, CUT&RUN/Tag, cell isolation, sorting using FACS, etc. - Prior experience working with animal models is highly preferred. - Prior experience handling large data sets and bioinformatic analysis: single cell RNAseq, epigenomic profiles (ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq), etc. Work Type: Full Time: 100% It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
