Posting Details Classification Information Classification Type EHRA Position Overview Primary Purpose of Position The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in NC A&T State University invites applications for a full-time, post-doctoral research associate position in Multi-agent Systems applications particularly the Cooperative Control of autonomous vehicles and the applications such as deployment of UASs for Smart Agriculture, Environment, and Infrastructure, or connected autonomous vehciles. The project uses cooperative control of UASs and distributed remote sensing techniques for applications such as smart farming or infrastructure inspection or forming shared perception among autonomous vehciles. This is a non-tenure-track, year-to-year appointment, renewable annually for up to two years subjected to satisfactory performance, availability of resources, and the needs of the Department. We thus look for applicants that have a demonstrated track record in the applications of multi-agent systems. Programming and practical experiences with embedded real-time systems are desired. The employee will carry out research on Multi-agent Systems applications and enabling capabilities. The employee will be a member of a research group at ACCESS Laboratory, supporting projects through original research, collaboration with other team members, and mentoring of students. The employee will also contribute to additional proposal efforts, thereby strengthening North Carolina A&T State University’s ability to attract external funding. The employee will confer on overall research direction and strategy but will exercise a considerable amount of independent judgment and original thinking in carrying out research that contributes to original knowledge and advances the University’s reputation in research. The employee will publish research results, in collaboration with Professor, in recognized journals. The employee will share student mentoring with Professor and will participate in departmental seminars and other professional activities as assigned. The candidate will be also working with both graduate and undergraduate students in a mentoring role, and will be involved in conducting workshops, and seminars. Autonomous Cooperative Control of Emergent Systems of Systems ( ACCESS ) Laboratory aims to address fundamental problems in modeling, analysis, control, and improvement of complex systems. Researchers at ACCESS laboratory achieve this goal by systematically developing tools and techniques for analysis and synthesis of complex systems. A strong experimental background with evidence of experimental skills related to applications of multi-agent systems. 3. Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education The ideal candidate should have experience with robotics and autonomous vehicles and practical applications of multi-agent systems as well as good programming skills.
