Position: Research Fellow in Statistical Science

Duties: To lead and carry out original independent research on a topic of the Fellow’s choice in statistics (including data science) or applied probability, leading to conference presentations and publication in top journals for the relevant field. Appointees will be expected to contribute to the research environment of the departments of Statistical Science and of Mathematics, through interaction with staff and students and by participating in and co-organising IMSS events
Requirements: The successful candidate must have a PhD in mathematics, statistics or related discipline and a track record of international research excellence and publishing in the relevant discipline. A written independent research plan will form part of the application and it will be advantageous if the proposed research is related to one of the departments’ research groups: biostatistics; computational statistics; economics, finance and business; environmental statistics; general theory and methodology; multivariate and high dimensional data
