Position: PhD student position on computational spectroscopy of 2D materials
Institution: University of Luxembourg
Location: Luxembourg City, Luxembourg
Duties: The group uses and develops electronic structure methods for the description of electronic excitations in novel materials. A special focus lies on 2D materials and their application for light-harvesting and light emission. The research project will be on the role of electron-phonon coupling in spectroscopy. It will focus on the development of new methodologies and their applications to phonon-assisted luminescence and Raman spectroscopy
Requirements: Master’s degree in physics, materials science, or a related field (or expecting to graduate soon); Background in programming and usage of ab-initio electronic structure codes; Ability to work effectively in a team and good communication skills (oral and written); Prior knowledge of the methods of many-body perturbation theory (in particular the GW approximation and the Bethe-Salpeter-Equation) is a plus
