Position: Mathematician/Physicist/Meteorologist Natural Hazards Modelling

Duties: Quotation of the Hannover Re Group's worldwide catastrophe business using licensed and proprietary natural hazards and cyber models; Checking the plausibility of scientific assumptions in the natural hazards models through model validations and adjusting the models for quotation and aggregate control purposes; Ongoing refinement, implementation and application of mathematical approaches for the evaluation of cyber risks; Conducting studies and analyses to assess the potential losses from worldwide natural hazards such as windstorm, earthquake, flood, tsunami, hail as well as cyber risks; Participating in projects and working groups
Requirements: Degree in mathematics, (geo)physics or meteorology; Experience in handling complex SQL databases; Knowledge of the programming languages R and Python; Independent user skills in German (level B2) and proficient user skills in English (at least level C1); Willingness to go on occasional business trips, roughly three or four times a year
