Duties: The Department of Chemistry at Michigan State University invites applications for a position of Postdoctoral Research Associate in the lab of Professor Tian (Autumn) Qiu. This position will support research projects in using imaging mass spectrometry for host-microbe and toxicology research, including: 1) Develop 4D mass spectrometry imaging methods on complex biological samples for neurochemicals and xenobiotics using a MALDI quadrupole time-of-flight (Q-TOF) mass spectrometer with trapped ion mobility spectrometry (TIMS). 2) Couple mass spectrometry imaging methods with other techniques including microscopy and LC-MS workflow. 3) Perform data analysis on the mass spectrometry imaging and LC-MS datasets
Requirements: PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, toxicology or related fields and any research experience

Required Degree Doctorate Minimum Requirements PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, toxicology or related fields and any research experience. Desired Qualifications Prior experience in imaging mass spectrometry is desired. Experience with biostatistics, biological sample preparation, LC-MS workflow, rodent animal experiments, microbiology and/or toxicology is a plus. Strong problem-solving abilities with self-motivation, collaborative and collegial working ethics, and willingness to mentor and assist other less experienced team members are preferred.
