Position Details Summary Operating Title Assistant Professor in Condensed Matter Physics Long Classification Title Campus Location Durham Department UNH CEPS Physics Summary of Position The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of New Hampshire ( UNH ) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in experimental condensed matter physics at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin in Fall 2023. The successful candidate will establish and maintain a highly productive research program that includes both undergraduate and graduate students, routinely publish results of scholarly work, and compete successfully for external funding. In addition, the successful candidate will teach physics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at the teaching load for research-active faculty (approx. 2 classes per year), and contribute to department, college, university and professional service activities. Preference will be given to candidates whose research complements and expands upon existing strengths in quantum and strongly correlated materials. Candidates must have a PhD in physics or a closely related field. Exceptional candidates at higher rank will be considered.
