Requirements: College/University degree required, advanced degree preferred, in Mathematics or Mathematical Sciences; Previous working experience in STM (Science, Technology and Medical) publishing industry; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Solid presentation skills and written and oral communication skills

Book acquisitions and publishing are core to the position in conjunction with working closely with series editors, advisory board members, authors, and volume editors, to develop texts, monographs, and other product types. Travel to conferences and campuses that meet our strategic goals is required. This role is based in our New York or Philadelphia office on a hybrid working model. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Actively builds up author/editor/reviewer network among the North-American (and overseas) scientific community. Keeps abreast of the latest development of responsible subject areas, focus on pure and applied mathematics including emerging or hot topics as well as interdisciplinary researches. Plans, acquires and manages Editorial Projects with North American (and overseas) authors/editors. Acquires and publishes Textbooks, Monographs, Proceedings, Briefs, and Contributed Volumes in variable quantities. Grows and maintains quality of the Editorial Projects, including peer-review, metadata input, academic content, language, layout, etc. Works closely with the Executive Editor and Editors from GPU Mathematics/Statistics to achieve the targets assigned by the company. Present Springer’s overall mathematics program at conference exhibits in North America and other major conferences globally important for the program. REQUIRED BACKGROUND: College/University degree required, advanced degree preferred, in Mathematics or Mathematical Sciences Previous working experience in STM (Science, Technology and Medical) publishing industry Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Solid presentation skills and written and oral communication skills Ready to travel mostly within North-America but also overseas as needed Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and capable of handling multiple priorities Highly motivated with a sense of self-discipline and of entrepreneurial interests Proficiency in Office applications incl.
