Position: PhD Position: Collection and Analysis of Correlative Microscopy Data on Perovskite Materials
Institution: Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften
Location: Winterthur, Zürich, Switzerland
Duties: The goal of this project is to unravel correlations of microscopy images on emerging semiconductors with device performance. Questions are related to optical, electrical and ionic properties of the material. The tasks include the collection of experimental data, in particular in operando of perovskite thin films of various compositions and under varied conditions. The methodology is based on innovative ways of functionalizing e.g. the AFM tip and analysing the measurement data. Tasks include: Micro scale characterization using confocal luminescence and Raman microscopy; Performing and developing AFM based methods (cAFM, KPFM, etc.) for advanced nano scale characterization; Developing approaches for advanced data analysis; Analysis of measurement data using AI approaches, e.g. image recognition; Possibly sample fabrication
Requirements: You are a highly motivated student whose desire is to perform cutting edge research. You enjoy working independently and developing creative solutions. You are an independent thinker and have high problem solving skills. You are eager to combine experimental and computer skills. You have: An excellent Master degree in either data/computer science with strong background/interst in physics and materials science or vice versa; Good computer and programming skills; Good English skills
