Position: Bioinformatics Lead, NGS Algorithms Development

Duties: Lead the bioinformatics development team to develop novel methods, algorithms, and analysis pipelines for NGS-based diagnostic assays; Collaborate with Assay development (wet lab scientists) team to characterize and benchmark the NGS assay performance using well characterized reference and control samples; Help drive improvements to both analytical and computational performance of industry standard algorithms including, but not limited to aligner for short and long reads, SNV and CNV callers, TMB, MSI detection; Work with commercial team and regulatory teams to help design studies for analytical validation of diagnostic assays
Requirements: PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or a relevant subject area plus a minimum of 10+ years of proven experience; A minimum of 5 years in leadership roles with experience managing a team of highly talented scientists and/or engineers; Proven track record of developing several NGS algorithms including error-correction, alignment, polymorphism detection (SNV, CNV. Del/Dup), TMB, and MSI for inherited disease and somatic oncology
