Position: Senior Lectureship in Medical Education, School of Medicine

Duties: will contribute to and assist in the delivery of research led teaching, assessment and examining on courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level and continuing professional development courses in the School of Medicine; have oversight responsibilities within the 5 year undergraduate medical programme, working closely with year leads and module co-ordinators to ensure effective programme delivery, excellent student experience and support; will engage in productive research and scholarship, including the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research
Requirements: a medical degree, postgraduate professional qualification, MD/PhD in an area relevant to Medical/Health Professions’ Education, or current registration in a relevant doctoral programme, or willingness to register for MD/PhD in Health Professions’ Education within 12 months of appointment, a record of successful achievement and international recognition through research and scholarly activity within the discipline of Medical/Health Professions’ Education or other relevant area

Reporting to the Head of the Medical Education Unit, the Lecturer in Medical Education; • will contribute to and assist in the delivery of research led teaching, assessment and examining on courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level and continuing professional development courses in the School of Medicine; • have oversight responsibilities within the 5 year undergraduate medical programme, working closely with year leads and module co-ordinators to ensure effective programme delivery, excellent student experience and support • will engage in productive research and scholarship, including the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research; • will participate in the administrative activities of the Medical Education Unit, the School of Medicine, and the academic life of the College and University; • will carry out other duties appropriate to the post as may be assigned by the head of discipline/department/school.
