Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Histotechnologist in Dermatology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Under the direction of the Mohs surgeon, responsible for cutting and the processing of frozen section specimens after surgical excision of skin cancers, surgeries/excisions and management of small laboratory and conduct highly specialized, technical or unique research in the area of Dermatology. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Cuts frozen sections specimens after surgical excision of skin cancer specimens. Assists in the establishment of performance of standard selection of methodology and instrumentation and coordination of the analytical, biochemical, physiological instrumentation functions with the clinical, research and teaching areas to ensure conformance with the goals and objectives of the Department of Dermatology. Assists physician with patients, prepares and performs varied research and clinical technical operations relating to dermatology on blood, urine and skin samples. Assists with conducting independently or as assigned, specialized research for specific projects. Assists with the instructing and training of residents, fellows, medical students, research assistants and laboratory technicians in laboratory techniques to develop the skills necessary to perform required functions. Assists in conducting a continuous program of research and development regarding the analytical and instrumentation functions of the laboratory. Maintains Mohs and biopsy case surgical log. Prepares and documents all routine inspections. Performs other related duties as assigned.
